Unfortunately, winter is approaching and my rowing season is already over. The weather is really full of surprises – today is summer and the next day is winter. Mark Twain was absolutely right when he wrote: “If you don’t like the weather in New England right now, just wait a few minutes.”
What I mean is we do not evacuate unless there is an order for mandatory evacuation, and that only happened twice during my 40 years of living here. Not too bad!

Unfortunately, winter is approaching and my rowing season is already over. The weather is really full of surprises – today is summer and the next day is winter. Mark Twain was absolutely right when he wrote: “If you don’t like the weather in New England right now, just wait a few minutes.”
But we beat that in Florida: if we don’t like weather on this side of the street, all we have to do is to cross to the other side.
Yes. You are lucky. But which side of the street to choose during a hurricane (sometimes it happens).
That’s a million dollar question. We choose to sit it out at home, but then we don’t live in a highrise, even though we are close to the ocean.
I think it’s good solution. Better safe than sorry.
