Why is everyone so scared? This is one of very beautiful and popular places in the Boston – Trinity Church on Copley Square. Did I do something wrong to scare you? I just wanted to be different.
Yes, the gloomy shades of grey make it feel ominous, but for me, the lines of the steeple itself and the things poking sharply from the roof combined with the “forbidden fortress” feel of the architecture make this a beautiful and somewhat mysterious picture. Just beautiful! And haunting.

Many thanks. I am very glad that you still like this photo, even if the view haunts you.
Thank you, Dolly. I’m sorry. I always want everyone to like what surrounds them, to love the view. Scaring someone is the last thing I want to do. For me, this scene is more interesting in black and white than in color. Maybe I’m wrong, but I still prefer the B/W version.
But there is nothing to be sorry about, Vova! I am a Steven King fan, and New England is his home. I find no comedy as hilarious as horror movies, and I have always enjoyed all the spooky stuff that Salem offers.
Most certainly the black and white version is best for this photo.

Thanks a lot, Dolly. When I took this photo, I was 100% sure that it should be in black and white. But I just didn’t expect this photo to create such an unexpected feeling for the audience.
Ohh I’am really sorry…I too apologize for saying it as a haunted house..

You have nothing to apologize for. I took this photo. And if this photo creates such an impression, then this is my responsibility. I’ll be more careful next time.
A horror effect
I ask myself why everyone is so scared by this picture. Is it because it’s black and white?
Spooky! I like it!

Fantastic photo that benefits from being black and white; could be an excellent cover for a horror book.

It’s called artistic intuition, Vova. It’s not rational, but that’s what makes you an artist.
Thank you Dolly. You are very kind.
My pleasure, Vova.
Perfectly scary image in black & white.
Thank you Irene, Sorry, I didn’t want to scare anyone, I just decided that black and white is more suitable for this look.
No need to be sorry for making a great decision on your shot.
Thanks a lot, Irene. It have already been explained.
Not scary as much as evocative … haunting … the stark lines of the church play off the softness of the clouds.
I think next time to show the beauty of this amazing church, I will take a color photo. Thank you Donna.
Then you will have two beautiful images of this church, truly showing how viewers differ in their perceptions of a sight and how diverse is beauty.
I can probably wait for spring with clear blue skies and fresh greens.
🖤
Thank you.
In the movies most of the haunted house has similar ambiance..I’am not scared but it gives a first impression like a ghost house.
It’s a little funny because this haunted house is Boston’s famous Trinity Church. I think I should apologize to the members of this church for this.

It’s all because of that sky, black and white theme, that atmosphere…It happens no worries..
Thank you. I understand.
Thanks much for understanding
