Thank you very much, Rebecca. The Great Blue Heron is a very cautious bird and does not let close, but this time I was lucky.

Many thanks. The great blue heron was the main subject in this photo, and I didn’t want to distract attention to anything secondary.

The GBH is one of my favorite birds, and always makes my heart lift. This is where the quality of your camera makes your vision come to life – I’d envy it, but I’d be too afraid of dropping it in the water! I don’t want to kayak with something I can’t afford to replace.

Thank you very much. I fully understand that you are worried and therefore I have a dedicated camera bag to protect it from water and drowning.

Thank you very much, Cheryl. This time I was able to get close enough to capture more detail. I was lucky.

It’s a awsome picture and the nature and the bird are just perfect for each other and also perfect the photographer ❤

Thank you so much. I have tried many times to photograph this bird. But only this time, this bird allowed it to be close enough to take such a detailed picture.

I was very lucky with the lighting. On the one hand, it was a very bright sunny day to illuminate the bird, and on the other hand, the background was in shadow and did not overlap the foreground. It would be interesting to see the reflection of a bird in the same photo. But the branch was so high above the water that placing the bird in the same photograph and reflections would result in a loss of detail. Thank you.

I am in love with this photo! What a beautiful and clear pose by the heron. It’s almost like he was collaborating with you on purpose.

I sat in the kayak for a long time and waited for this pose. I was glad that the great blue heron took this pose and gave me the opportunity to take this picture before flying away. Thank you.
