This is a beautiful photo! Is it a blue heron? I saw what I believed to have been a blue heron flying low over the backside of the Little River Dam this morning…. majestic and regal and peaceful! Your photo captures its personality! Thank you for posting it!

Thank you very much. Yes, it’s a blue heron, and there are many of them here on the Charles River. But they were rarely allowed to photograph themselves. This time I was lucky.

Many thanks. I love taking pictures of such cute birds when they let me get close to them. But this does not happen often.

Thank you very much. Photographing a blue heron is a matter of chance, because the bird is very careful, and in most cases you do not have much time to compose and choose a point of view regarding the light. But this time I was lucky and everything was as I wanted.

Thank you very much. In my experience, color is also very light dependent, in which case it can range from gray to blue.

I totally agree with you and that’s why I love taking pictures of them. But very often they do not like to be photographed. Thank you.

That’s true !!! Sometimes they will look right at you and fly away ! Birds are very moody creatures at times, much like humans . You’re welcome 🙂
