The way the tree is leaning toward the house is evocative. Is it ready to knock on the door? Offering protection? Threatening to fall on the roof? There could be a lot of stories with this one!
The black and white look of the photo can also appear ominous! I’d like to think it is leaning in a protective manner and yet, under a powerful storm, the tree could wreck havoc upon the house. Certainly a thought-provoking photo!
The building looks strong enough and will probably withstand a storm and a fallen tree if it does. Sorry for choosing a black and white image, but I thought a monochrome image would be more reasonable in this case.

Thank you very much. The building looks quite old and there are probably some stories about this building and who lived there. But I don’t know the owner of this mansion and I don’t know anything. Sorry.
Thanks a lot. When I compared a black and white image with a color one, I definitely chose the black and white version. The color image turned out well, but the black and white version has its own special mood.
Inspired by the photo, I wrote a poem about the tree, it’s simple but I hope you like it.
I stand tall, outside your door.
I lean a little to the left, as though I am protecting you.
My feet though, I assure you, are firmly rooted.
I am stripped bare.
There is nothing to see here.
Not yet anyway, but soon I will be adorned.
Through spring and summer I will grow.
Once more from head to toe I will glow.
People will marvel at my wondrous sight.
I am over one hundred years old
Like an old man or woman of my age, my bloom is white.
I give food to the many birds around as my fruit falls to the ground.
I supply the air you breathe through the changing of my leaves.
I am the gift of life.
Thank you very much for mentioning the name of this artist. Because of this, I again went to see his paintings. And I think they are joyful than this photo.

Nice house. The way that tree looms over it with branches reaching out makes the house look like it is haunted.
Thank you very much. Luckily, this building is in Brookline, not Salem, where ghosts are a common thing.
Beautiful photo,thank you
Thanks a lot. I’m glad you liked it.
👌👌👌📷
Thank you very much.
Love the feel of this black and white photograph! Age and substance…and a touch of sadness. Well done!

I agree!!
In any case, the whole atmosphere is very mysterious in this photo, and I think the b&w style adds to that.
Great picture!
Thank you very much Marc. I intentionally chose the black and white version to create that atmosphere.

Ohhh! That house has a story to tell!!
Thank you very much. I think so too, but I don’t know who to ask about these stories.
That house and landscape belong in a PBS adaptation of a Gothic novel.
Thank you very much. This building is very beautiful and with such an amazing location creates a very impressive view.

Reminds me of a Charles Burchfield painting.
