It’s as bright as sunlight! It’s in almost every Masschusetts county, but it only shows up in one county in all of Texas. Maybe someone brought it back to Texas from a visit to your state!

Thank you very much. I don’t really know the history of this flower moving from state to state.

Thank you very much, Nigel. It is very interesting that in early spring there are a lot of sunny-colored flowers.

You are welcome; it is also worth noting that the first flowers bloom in the early spring when it is still very cold. The colours start with vivid blue due to freezing conditions and then get lighter as the warmer weather evolves; hence you generally see things like bluebells and croci before you see lighter-coloured flowers.

You should have photos like this made into jigsaw puzzles. HGTV has a new show about a photographer who does exactly that. There are millions of puzzle fanatics like me—- world wide.

Thank you very much. I don’t know how to create puzzles. But maybe I’ll see how it can be done.

I love everything about this photo. I like how you named it, playing with idea of the word patch, as it is the center of the photo. The dual nature of the word patch is very interesting here, it being from a patch of flowers, but rising to the center of the photo. I am weird, I am sorry…

Thank you very much. I was just looking for a synonym for the word “spot” because I thought it didn’t really fit in this case.
